Plus two lecturers welfare association alleges political interference in school administration

All J&K Plus Two Lecturers Welfare Association, Jammu has alleged interference into the school administration by some politicians, which is badly affecting the functioning of schools in Jammu province. Association also highlighted their various demands including restoration of evaluation duty to the principals of different streams, which have been debarred without any reason.
Vijay Sharma, President of the association while addressing a press conference said that Principals’ integrity and efficiency are directly questioned by the politicians as they interfering with the school administration causing irreparable loss to the studies. Sharma also highlighted various demands of the association which includes regularization of in charge lecturers, transparent transfer policy, Non-Tution Allowance for the lecturers on the pattern of Non-Practicing Allowance to government doctors, restoration of senior lecturers grade as, the senior lecturers and lecturer grades were clubbed together to give rise to a single grade.
Association also demanded the creation of the post of Vice Principal to remove the prolonged stagnation at a particular cadre and to provide promotional avenues to the lecturer community. Meanwhile, association has expressed its strong resentment against the decision of Leh-Kargil transfers without any prior notice. It has been also alleged that the factors like age, health, and length of service inside and outside have not been kept into consideration before affecting such badly disturbing transfers.
It has also been demanded that the working wives of Leh-Kargil transferees should be posted near homes to safeguard the educational interests of their children and looking after their domestic affairs properly. Among others present on the occasion were Pawan Banotra, Dalbir Singh, R K Hakeem, Ashwani Sharma etc.
