| Pahari convention held | | |
SHOPIAN, September 02
A Convention of Pahari Speaking people was held at Chak Sadpora, Shopian. Large number of representatives of the community from adjoining villages participated in the Convention.
Vice Chairman, State Advisory Board for Development of Pahari Language Shabir Ahmed Khan presided over the function.
Addressing the Convention, Mr. Khan said that the government has taken several concrete steps for the upliftment and development of pahari speaking community under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad. He said that Rs.2 crore were sanctioned as pre-matric scholarship in favour of 75,000 pahari speaking school students during current financial year.
The function was addressed by several leaders of the community.
A fantastic cultural programme was also present on the occasion.
