| Hawala racket busted, 2 arrested | | | Jammu | Sep 2 Doda police busted a hawala racket of militants and arrested two hardcore over ground workers (OGWs) of LeT outfit. Police also recovered three lakh rupees of ‘hawala’ money in cash from their possession, when they were on way to deliver the money to another militant. According to reports, police received specific information that a militant of LeT outfit was wandering in the Passari area with intention to receive the hawala consignment. After receiving the information, a police team from Bhardwah police station led by SHO under the supervision of SSP Doda Manohar Singh swung into action, cordoned the area and arrested two OGWs namely Naseer Ahmed alias Raju Beig son of Bashir Ahmed Beig resident of Puneja and Mukhtiar Ahmed son of Mohd Amin resident of Nalthi, Bhaderwah. They recovered three lakh ruppes cash of hawala money while the militant to receive the money managed to escape from the area. Police took the two arrested to police station for further interrogation. Sources said they are active over ground workers of the militants and were about to deliver the hawala money to LeT commander Ashiq Hussain in the forest area of Bhaderwah. Sources said during interrogation they disclosed some information to police and confessed that they were active for last many years. Raju Beig is a hardcore OGW of LeT and he was earlier also arrested in the year of 2006. Sources said during interrogation they disclosed names of some persons involved with them and some more arrests are likely to take place shortly. Police has registered a case under section 10,17,18,19,20 unlawful activites act 121/121A RPC under FIR No157/2007 in this regard and investigating the matter. The recent killing of top commanders and toady’s busting of hawala racket is considered as a big achievement against LeT outfit.
