| HM District Commander eliminated in Doda, OGW apprehended | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU AUG 13 The dreaded militant outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) operating in Jammu and Kashmir has suffered a great set back when one of its dreaded militant and the District Commander was killed in a joint operation in Doda district today, while a blast took place at Thathri near Jama Masjid last evening and Over Ground Worker was apprehended in Kishtwar area.. According to the reports the Police, Army and CRPF on a specific information about the presence of some militants in village Major near Chatroo, launched a joint operation during wee hours today. During search, an encounter took place between the militants and the operation party and in the exchange of fire one militant identified as Mohammed Imran code Furkan son of Ghulam Ali resident of Rinka Palmar was killed while his two other accomplices managed to escape. The forces have launched a combing operation in the area to apprehend the militants. The slain militant, a district Commander of HM outfit, was considered as a most important functionary of the outfit in Kishtwar area. He was active since 2003 and was responsible for several militant activities in Kishtwar, Chatroo,Marwah, Dachhan and Warwan far flung areas of Doda District One AK magazine, 18 rounds of AK ammunition, three Chinese hand grenades and one Binocular was recovered from the site of encounter. A Police spokesman said that militants hurled a grenade at Thathri near Jamia Masjid.. Police party was rushed to the spot and further details were awaited when the reports last came in. The spokesman said that 20-year Nazir Bhat son of Abdul Ghani Bhat of Kuchhal working as a OGW for the militant outfit was apprehended near Kishtwar today.
