Warm send off to Sidhu, Garyali

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 03 - A warm send off was given to two IAS officers on their retirement from government service on superannuation at a function held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Mr. C. Phunsog here last evening.
They are Principal Secretary Science and Technology and Information Technology Mr. A. S. Sidhu and Joint Financial Commissioner Revenue Mr. A. K. Garyali, who retired from government service on 31st of last month.
Financial Commissioner Home B. R. Kundal, Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda, Financial Commissioner Planning and Development Mr. S. S. Kapur, Financial Commissioner Agriculture Production S. S. Sahni, Vigilance Commissioner Dr. Ashok Bhan, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Anil Goswami, Principal Secretary General Administration Khurshid Ahmad Ganai and other senior IAS and IPS officers participated in the function.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary lauded the qualities of both the retiring officers who have made valuable contribution to the state administration and thereby people and society at large. “Both the officers have won our hearts. We will miss them and they too will miss us”, he added.
Wishing Sidhu and Garyali a happy and fulfilling post- retirement life, Phunsog said that after retirement from government service, one enters a new phase of life and gets an opportunity to pursue what one could not do while in service.
Principal Secretary ARI and Trainings Mrs. Sonali Kumar also extended her best wishes to Mr. Sidhu and Garyali for their post-retirement life.
Principal Secretary General Administration Khurshid Ahmad Ganai said that Sidhu and Garyali have worked in different capacities in the state well over for three decades. He recalled his first meeting with Sidhu along with other young IAS officers way back in mid eighties in the secretariat and found him a very nice, courteous and popular officer. Sidhu has been a very kind officer and by virtue of the qualities of his head and heart, he became extremely popular, he said.
Ganai also praised Garyali’s qualities and wished Sidhu and Garyali all the luck in their post-retirement life.
Kundal and Sonali Kumar presented mementos to the retirees.
