| Rs.1.28 cr earmarked for beautification of Jammu city | | Charak for speedy execution of on going projects | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | AUG 13
On the explicit directions from the Chief Minister, the Minister of State for Roads and Buildings, Gulchain Singh Charak today took an extensive tour of various parts Jammu city and its periphery to review the pace of progress on several under execution projects in these areas. Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Vice Chairman Jammu Development Authority, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, senior officers of Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation and other concerned departments, the Minister gave on the spot orders for completion of all the on going projects within the stipulated time frame and also directed the concerned agencies to undertake repair and renovation works at the airport, railway station and the bus stand on priority basis. The Minister called for beautification of main bazars, repairs of lanes, drains and footpaths in Jammu city for which Rs.1.28 crore has already been set apart adding these works should be taken up in triple shifts to ensure their early completion. Referring to the development and renovation of Jammu Archives, Dogra Art Museum and old High Court Building in historic Mubarak Mandi complex, the Minister said that Rs.28.26 lakh has been earmarked for the purpose in the first instance. Expressing his concern over the dilapidated condition of the main entrance of the famous Bahu Fort , the Minister asked the concerned agency to take up renovation work at the earliest . Charak also inspected the pace of work on under construction bridges on Sardan Nallah in Surunisar and Bilole Nallah in RS Pora and directed the executing agencies to take up these two vital projects under triple shift system so as to complete these in a record time.
