| Puruskar camp inaugurated | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 4 A three days Pre-Rajya Puruskar Testing Camp was inaugurated at Kendriya Vidalaya No. 1, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, today, by B.D. Sharma, Divisional Commissioner, KVS State Association of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Jammu Division and officiating Assistant Commissioner, Kendriya Vidalaya Sangathan, Jammu Region. A total number of 46 scouts and 19 guides have been selected to participate in this camp. These scouts and guides will go further to New Delhi, for Raiya Puraskar Test. The programme started with a prayer and unfurling the scouts’ / guides’ flag. Dr. Jaswant Manhas, Divisional Training Commissioner (Guide) and Principal, KV Damana welcomed the chief guest. She told the assembly that Sharma has been actively, associated with scouting for the last 24 years Jang S. Verman, Divisional Training Commissioner (Scout) read out the report of the camp. He declared the details of activities to be undertaken during the camp. B.D. Sharma, the chief guest, in his speech emphasized upon the importance of learning the scouting / guiding is a spiritual and social activities based movement. He further said that this movement prepares better citizen, useful for the community. It makes a person more effective in day to day life skills. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by the venue Principal, Dr. Chitra Mishra.
