Horticulture works reviewed

To review the progress of implementation of various development schemes including ongoing monsoon plantation programme in Jammu division. Director horticulture Jammu MS Qasba took a meeting of all the divisional and district level officers of Jammu division today. It was informed that an area of 1200 hectares has already been brought under new plantation programme in the sub-tropical zones of Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri and Udhampur districts. Director horticulture directed all the officers to take all the necessary measures to ensure proper implementation of all the department schemes so that the poor farmers are benefited.
Director horticulture impressed upon the participants to work more efficiently with full dedication and leave no stone unturned for successful implementation of horticulture activities in the field. He also stressed to take advance steps for selection of areas and identification of beneficiaries for ensuing spring plantation programme right now so that the programme is implemented with out any difficulty as per action plan.
The chair also stressed upon the Chief Horticulture officers to activate/gear-up their field functionaries and take necessary measures for creation of water resources, production of planting material establishment of low cost poly green houses, popularization of agriculture tools and implements etc. as per guidelines / action plan already drawn.
The officers present in the meeting assured that no stone will be left unturned in this behalf and every assistance/guidance will be provided to the farmers for up-liftment of fruit industry in the division.
