| Ex-gratia relief distributed to Gool victims | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER UDHAMPUR | AUGUST 13: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, O.P. Kalandria distributed ex-gratia relief of Rs. one lakh each to the next kins of three deceased who were killed in discriminate firing by the militants during the intervening night of 10TH and 11TH August, 2006 at village Kalimasta (Hara) about five kilometers away from Gool in Udhampur district. The deceased who were gunned down by the militants include Samitrian (40 years) wife of Ram Singh, daughter Neena Devi (14 years) and son Neelam Singh (10 years) all resident of village Kalimasta (Hara) Gool of Mahore tehsil. The Deputy Commissioner, O.P. Kalandria alongwith Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Varinder Slathia expressed their heart-felt sympathies with the bereaved family. Kalandria assured all possible help from the district administration besides government jobs to the survived son of Ram Singh under SRO-43. While interacting with the locals on the occasion, Kalandria emphasized the need for maintaining communal harmony and brother hood despite provocation by the anti-national elements. He said district administration would extend every possible help to the militancy-affected families besides maintaining adequate safety arrangements for their lives and property. The DC also urged upon the prominent citizens of the area to extend full cooperation to district administration and security agencies for maintaining peace and tranquility in the area.
