| Army organizes inter school sports competition for girl students | | | Early Times Reporter
Mendhar | Sep 5 To boost and give exposure to the fairer sex especially living in far flung and interior areas, Mendhar Battalion of the Army organized an Inter School sports competition in which girl students from several schools of Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district participated. The 10-day sports competition concluded today.
The Principal Girls Higher Secondary School, Mendhar had inaugurated the competition on August 27 at a simple ceremony organized by the Mendhar Battalion. A total of nine schools namely Government Degree College, MD College Mendhar, GHSS Mendhar, GHSS Ari, GHS Harni, PHS Mendhar, PWS Hamirpur, PWS Sabra and GGMS Mendhar participated in the events.
The competition generated a lot of enthusiasm in the local population since this sports competition exclusively for the girl student was the first of its kind organized in Mendhar Tehsil. The civil authorities and the Principals of all the schools lauded the efforts put in by Mendhar Battalion in organizing this event.
