| CA’s celebrate raising day | | | JAMMU JULY-1-The Jammu and Kashmir Branch of the Chartered Accounts celebrated its raising day today. The Institute of Charted Accounts was established in Jammu and Kashmir on this day in 1949. Pradeep Gandotra. Brach Chairman welcoming the participants highlighted the important role of the chartered accounts in accountancy and auditing. He said that Chartered Accounts are providing value added services to the businessmen in real terms. Vikram Garg Secretary said that the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India (ICAI) came into existence in 1857 in India with the implementation of the first ever Companies Act. A book titled ‘Accounts, Accounting, Audit under Value Added Tax Act 2005’ was also released on the occasion. To overcome the problems with the adoption of new tax regime, the Institute has been instrumental in providing necessary guidance to the businessmen for proper implementation of the VAT Act in the State. Dinesh Gupta and R K Gupta also spoke on the occasion. Vice Chairman of the Institute Wig Sinbad presented vote of thanks.
