| Several Institutions celebrate Teachers’ Day | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu|Sep 6 The J&K Bharat scouts and Guides Association celebrated “Teachers Day” in unique way by organizing National Group songs competition in which 150 scouts and guides of more than 15 schools participated. A.K. Raina ,Director School Education, Jammu was the chief guest on this auspicious occasions where as M.K. Bason, Chief Manager State Bank of India and Jai Raj, District Youth services and sports officer, Jammu were the guests of honour. Mohd Yasin Sheikh, M.M. Joshi and Ritesh Kapoor were special invitees. Teachers’ Day was celebrated with fervour and enthusiasm. Welcome song and other cultural programs were presented by the students and the teachers winning applause from the gathering. Principal Neeru Puri inspired the students about the teachings of Dr. Radha Krishnan while Prof. M.R. Puri Ex. Vice Chancellor of Jammu University who was the chief guest gave a detailed account of the life and teachings of late educationist and former President of India. J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) observed the Day as a protest day. A large number of teachers from different zones of the district participated in the protest demonstration and accused government of its failure in meeting the genuine demands of the teaching community. Shiksha Niketan School organized a grand function to celebrate Teachers’ Day. Prof N.A. Ganai Chairman J&K Board of School Education was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion chief guest reminded the teachers of their duty in transforming the children, the future builders of the nation. He impressed the need for imparting moral education among the students
