Criticism of ‘Teachers day’ very unfortunate: Congress
9/7/2007 12:04:44 AM

Jammu | Sep 6
Congress has termed the criticism on teachers day celebration yesterday by some political parties, as very unfortunate.
As per press release, reacting of some opposition parties about the celebration of Teachers day at Jammu and Srinagar, PCC spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that either these parties do not fully understand the importance of teachers day or are deliberately undermining its importance by their unwarranted criticism.
Appreciating the state government for celebrating this day on a bigger scale, sharma said that the state government and education department in particular has given due recognition to the spirit and concept behind this. Attributing political motives to such laudable action is quite unfortunate. He said these parties should go through the contents of the speeches of the Chief Minister and other speakers before raising fingers.
