| Bus operator protest against traffic police | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 6 Bus operators today blocked BC road to protest against the high handedness of the traffic police. The protesting bus operators alleged that a crane driver of traffic police snatched money from a bus driver forcibly which led to the demonstration and blockade of traffic on the much busy BC road for some time. The protesting drivers alleged that the accused crane driver made them to pay hefty sums and on refusal their vehicles were lifted with out any reason that too in presence of his senior officers. According to reports, a bus of Jammu-Kathua road bearing number JK02T/6443 was ready to go on its routine number from bus stand to Kathua when driver of crane demanded some money from the bus driver. On refusal the alleged accused crane driver started misbehaving with him and tried to lift his bus. The Bus driver informed the union members about the incident who rushed to the spot and recovered some money from the accused traffic police driver which he had allegedly collected from the bus drivers. The Manager Jammu-Kathua Bus Union Racchpal Singh and Kuldeep Randhawa alleged that the traffic cops have been illegally collecting hefty sums from the drivers on monthly basis. Some senior police and traffic officers rushed to the spot and assured the bus operators that action would be taken against the erring crane driver. On this assurance the bus drivers removed the blockade on the BC road
