Vehicular traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was disrupted for some time following blockade of the highway by the residents of Samorli area near Udhampur today who were demanding action against a driver reportedly involved in the murder of a conductor.
The protestors demanded immediate arrest of the driver responsible for murdering the conductor.
According to reports today morning a large number of people blocked the national highway demanding action against a driver of the area. They said some days back one conductor of a truck namely Kaku Ram resident of Samroli died under mysterious condition in Sopore area in Srinagar when he was on way to Jammu after delivering a consignment loaded in the truck. They alleged that the truck driver allegedly involved in the murder of the conductor has gone underground and his whereabouts were still not known despite lapse of couple of days.
On receipt of information the senior police officers rushed to spot to pacify the agitators. On their assurance the agitators lifted blockade on the highway.
