| Madhu Kishwar delivers lecture in JU | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 7 Madhu Kishwar, Editor Manushi and senior Fellow Centre for Study of Developing Societies today delivered a lecture on laws, liberty and livelihood and ignored dimensions of citizenship rights Centre foe Women Studies, University of Jammu, today organized a lecture on Laws, liberty, livelihood and ignored dimensions of citizenship rights. The program was organized by the Centre for Women Studies of University of Jammu here today. In his thought provoking lecture Kishwar laid emphasis on the ignored rights of citizens like Rikshawalas, street vendors. She sensitized the students and the faculty members of the University about the livelihood rights of the marginalized sections of the society and also spoke in detail on complexities of law and how the laws are anti-poor. Ms Madhu also highlighted the day to day growing pressures on street vendors and riksha pullers . Earlier, in her welcome address Prof. Poonam Dhawan, Director Centre for Women Studies threw light on the scholary achievements of Kishwar. The program was attended by the students and eminent faculty members of Department of Law, Sociology and Economics. The presentation was followed with interaction with students and faculty members of the different departments of Jammu University. The program was conducted by Priyanka Sharma, Project officer while Shaveta Sharma presented vote of thanks.
