| Hakeem reviews stock position of food grains | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER
Srinagar | August 14 :
To review the stock and supply position of various food grains in the State a high level meeting was held here today. The Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Hakim Mohammad Yaseen chaired the meeting. The Minister said that the process of stocking of the food grains in the far-flung areas including Ladakh region is in progress. He also directed for expediting of food grains in the border and hilly areas for coming winter months.
Mr. Yaseen said that Government has launched various steps to streamline the functioning of the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department to ensure delivery of food grains at every PDS in the state well in time. He asked the functionaries of the department to change their working style and work for the cause of the people to fulfill the commitment of government to provide all basic amenities to them.
He directed to make available sufficient quantity of rice, sugar and K. oil to the Shaia dominated areas in Budgam district, keeping in view the coming auspicious days.
The Minister asked the concerned Deputy Director (Adm) to hold departmental promotion committee meetings (DPC) so that deserving officials are promoted and placed at proper positions. He said a transparent transfer policy in the department would be adopted so as to make it more responsive and people friendly. |
