| Girl-student conduit held with arms | | Aspiring lawyer was coming from Surankote to Jammu | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 7 Special Operation Group (SOG) today arrested a girl law student and recovered UBGL rifle grenades from her possession when she was on way to Jammu from Surankote. On a specific input that the girl student traveling in a private Maruti car from Surankot was carrying some consignment for militants, SOG team laid a naka in Tanda area of Akhnoor and during checking the vehicle stopped a Maruti car. On search the team recovered some UGBL grenades from the bag of the Law student identified as Nahida Altaf daughter of Altaf Hussain resident of Iqbal Nagar, Surankote and took her to some safer place for interrogation. Sources said during interrogation she told the interrogation team that some body gave her consignment asking him to drop it in Jammu and also gave some names. Sources said after receiving vital clues, police teams were sent to Srinagar, Poonch, Surankote for effecting more arrests reportedly involved in the militancy. Police has also raided the house of the girl and also picked up some of room partners for questioning. The sources said that girls were later released after questioning. Sources said police got clues that some persons in Jammu were also involved with her and had planned to strike in Jammu . On her disclosure the police also arrested two persons from the city for questioning. Sources said the father of the arrested girl who is serving in police department had no knowledge about the activities about her daughter. Sources said after her interrogation many arrests are likely. It is believed she might have been working with militants for last many years and had been instrumental in delivering consignments at different parts of the state. When contacted a senior officer of SOG confirmed the arrest and said that the interrogation of the arrested girl was still continuing and some vital disclosure are expected.
