The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has got vital clues against the businessman who gave ‘supary’ to the killers who murdered Chopra family last year, after the interrogation of Sangram Singh and Bhawani Singh who were arrested by police from Guna area of Madhya Pradesh some days back. The arrest of the businessman is expected any time, the sources claimed.
According to sources after the arrest of kingpin and one more killer in the Chopra murder case ,the police got some vital clues about the businessman who himself hired the criminal gang to murder the Chopra family. Sources said the investigation in the case took a new turn and police got many clues that the killers had no plan to kill the entire family and they visited the Chopra house to murder only Rajinder Bhushan Chopra but when he refused to sign some documents they murdered all family members one by one. Sources said police also got more information that a businessman, who settled the deal with the killer gang, also gave some documents to the killers for getting signatures of Chopra on these and when the killers entered in the house on the intervening night of September 17-18 last year they first of all asked Chopra to sign the documents and on his refusal the killers took the family members in a room and threatened Chopra that if he failed to sign the documents they will kill his entire family members and later they killed all the family members including driver and servant one by one and fled from the house. Sources also added that the arrested persons during interrogation told police that a local criminal settled the deal with the businessman and killers at a specific place where the businessman gave the payment and asked them to finish the task early.
Sources said some days back, SIT hired a vehicle from a private travel agency in the city and laid trap at Guna, MP where police managed to arrest Sangram Singh, the kingpin and after his interrogation police arrested one more person, also involved in the brutal murder of Chopra family and team also took them to Ahmedabad for DNA test and are expected to be in Jammu in next two or three days. Sources said police has been working on this case for the last one year and after great efforts arrested the main kingpin. Sources said the SIT, who is also investigating the involvement of the businessman has directed the police in Jammu to collect more clues against the businessman .
It may be recalled that during the intervening night of September 17-18 last year, RB Chopra, his wife Madhu and daughter Saloni and two others including driver and servant were murdered at their residence causing shock weaves across the city.
After committing gruesome murder, the alleged killers Sangram Singh, along with others left in an Alto car owned by Chopra. They abandoned the car near Hari Market and left Jammu in a bus for New Delhi from where they left for Gunna in a train. According to reports during the last one year, SIT interrogated many persons and businessmen who were related with Chopra and also interrogated some of his ex partners.
Police has already arrested four killers of the gang namely Ramesh Kumar, Varinder Singh, Russel alias Rusy and Mahesh Singh who are now in the judicial custody.
