| JUJITSU’ crude martial art organizes training camp | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu|Sep 8 A 2-day training camp of ancient Japanese martial art ‘JUJITSU’ began at MAM Stadium here today in which over one hundred children of different age groups are being imparted training in the marshal art. Announcing this at a press conference here today, the Executive President of JUJITSU Federation of India, Anthony Fernades and General Secretary Ravi Lalwani said that a branch of the Federation has been set up in Jammu to promote the game among the children. They said that Inderjeet Khajuria has been appointed as President and Tarseem Sharma as General Secretary of the Jammu branch. They said the JUJITSU is an ancient Japanese marshal art and its origin dates back to 16th century adding that the modern marshal arts like Judo and Aikido have developed from JUJITSUI. They further stated that the two day camp being organized in the city of temples would be the first of its kind where children both girls and boys would be imparted training in the marshal art. Fernades said Federation is a permanent member of General Association of Sports Federation (GAISF) International World Games Association(IWGA), International Sports for all Federations(FIST) and Asian Jujitsu Belt Wrestling Federation (AJJBWF), which are duly recognized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). General Secretary (JJIF), Ravi Lalwani also criticized the Union Sports Ministry of its promoting games in the country and said that the Ministry is headed by a such a person who has little knowledge about the games. State President, Subash Sharma said that youth of the state would be imparted the best possible training in the state so that they could take part in the championship being held in Pakistan next month.
