The Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Chering Dorje visited the construction site of “ Zangdok Palri Potang” presently under construction at a hillock near Mahabodhi Meditation Center, Choglamsar.
While responding to the demand of the construction committee, the CEC assured for early construction of road upto the construction site. Dorje also assured to give a faco-lift to the surrounding area under Tourism Promotion Programme, besied he also assured water facility at the site.
The Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association who is taking care of the construction, one its member Tashi Targias said that this Fotang would be of 3 storeys having the images of Guru Rinpochey, Chanreszik and Odpakmed. When completed he said that the people in true sense would feel of having the zeal Zangdok Palri in Ladakh.
When the news regarding construction of the Zangdok Palri Fotang in Ladakh was brought into the king notice of Dalai Lama during and his recent visit the construction site.
A preliminary estimated cost is Rs. One crore on its construction, it is targeted to be completed in 3 years.
