| Dilawar tees-off PHD Golf tournament, Says such Tournaments help to market tourism | | | Farly Times Reporter SRINAGAR | Sep 09 –The Minister for tourism, Mohammad Dilawar Mir today said that holding Golf Tournaments in Kashmir plays a significant role in tourism promotion as Golfers from across the country after experiencing thrilling golfing in the Asia’s one of the best Golf Courses, the Royal Spring Golf Course (RSGC) can act as brand ambassadors of Kashmir Tourism. He was speaking to media person after teeing-off the Golf Tournament organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries in collaboration with the J&K Tourism Department at Royal Spring Golf Course here this morning. The Minister said that Government is creating world-class tourism infrastructure in the state including creation of a circuit of modern Golf courses, in the state to promote tourism in a big way. “A modern Golf course is fast coming up Sidhra in Jammu besides upgradation of Golf courses at Gulmarg, Phalgam and Srinagar, the Minister said adding that organizing Golf Tournaments in a sustained manner is an effective mode of marketing Kashmir Tourism at national and international levels. The Minister said that Kashmir has four distinct seasons and each season provides distinct attraction to satiate tastes of tourists, we have tremendous potential for snow skiing, water rafting, adventure tourism and what not for tourist here in the state, the Minister while appealing media fraternity to project Kashmir situation in good perspective as a minute de-information could prove disastrous for the tourism sector in the state. Replying to a query, the Minister called for collective and coordinated efforts to preserve world famous Dal-Lake adding that “ Dal Lake is the symbol of our such heritage which is to be conserved at all costs. He urged for educating people about conservation of our heritage and forest wealth. Later Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad gave away prizes among the Winners and Runners up teams.
