Panic gripped Mendhar Border Security Force (BSF) Camp in Bandipora district after a helicopter of Indian Air Force caught fire when it landed there for refuelling early this morning.
Two persons were injured in the fire that broke out suddenly in a Mi-17 helicopter of Indian Air Force, used for delivering essential commodities to troops deployed in border areas, when it halted at the BSF camp in Mandhar for refuelling, defence sources said.
Soon after the incident local fire tenders were called who took half an hour in dousing off the fire.
The helicopter suffered minor damage, while two persons including a Border Security Jawan received injuries, sources added.
