| Nahida’s relative introduced her to Altaf | | Altaf also stays in Jammu after release from jail | | Early Times Reporter

Law student Nahida Altaf daughter of Altaf Hussain resident of Iqbal Nagar, Surankote during the third day of her interrogation disclosed that one of her relative asked her to meet Altaf Ahmed in the jail. She said that she met Altaf in the jail three or four times and also briefed him about the activities of his colleagues besides passing on some messages and some secret codes.
Sources said she told the interrogation agency that her relative gave her cash for this work and also visited her house for delivery of cash and other things and messages for the Altaf when he was in the jail. Sources said, the relative whose identity was not disclosed by the police, was him self involved in militancy related incidents and was a close friend of Altaf . Posing her self a close relation of Altaf, Nahida is reported to have visited the jail a number of times while pursuing his law degree in Dogra Law College here. She is reported to have been visiting the jail just to pass on some vital information to Altaf. Sources also revealed that some months back when Altaf was released from the Jail, he stayed at Jammu for some days and Nahida also met him along with some more persons who were known by Altaf and her relative and after spending some days in Jammu he returned back in Surankote and was in touch with Nahida where her relative also managed to fix a meeting with Altaf in Surankote and after two three meetings Altaf gave a consignment to the Nahida and asked her to deliver it some militant harbours. But on the way to Jammu she was arrested by SOG team and later police has also managed to arrest Altaf from Surankote.
Sources said her relative is also residing in Poonch district and after the arrest of Nahida he has gone underground and police has launched a hunt to nab him.
Here it is to be mentioned that Nahida also told police during the second day interrogation that she had to hand over the consignment of explosive to Hizbul Mujahideen commander Fayaz Ahmed Talakh alias Tallah living in a rented house at Janipura main stop where she used to visit from the college hostel. She told police that Fayaz Ahmed Talakh alias Tallah son of Abdul Rashid Talakh resident of Maliknag, Anantnag, top commander of HM had been camping in Jammu city and frequently changing small hotels for last four days. Sources said Tallah who was recently released after four years in jail for his involvement in militancy along with an Afghani had to collect the consignment of explosive from Nahida in the rented house. Police after information raided the different parts of the city and also dispatched police teams to Srinagar to arrest Tallah but remained elusive till the last reports came in.
Nahida Altaf was arrested on September 7 along with her parents at Tanda area in Akhnoor as soon as she entered the territory of Jammu district from Surankote in a maruti car driven by her father namely Altaf Hussain a police head constable posted in police control room Jammu along with mother Zebun Nissa HOD, DIET Poonch. A rifle grenade launcher (UBGL) and eight grenades were recovered from the bag which was hidden in car’s dickey with the consent of her parents and after two days questioning police yesterday freed Nahida’s parents as their involvement in militancy didn’t surface
