| Minister shows IAS officer door | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu,|Sep 9: Even though the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad made all efforts to make the local bureaucracy powerful and influential but still there is no end to the tussle between IAS officers and the Ministers. A latest incident have come to the fore where a senior IAS officer who is also looking after the Chief Minister's secretariat was shown the door by a senior minister when he said something which was not taken well by the political boss. The IAS officer later complained to the Chief Minister who is believed to have written a "soft letter" to the Minister so as to protect ego of the both. According to highly placed sources, the scene recently erupted in the office chambers of senior Peoples Democratic Party leader and Agriculture Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar. The Minister had a called a meeting of officers to discuss road projects of South Kashmir. Minister of State for Roads and Buildings Mohammad Khalil Bandh, also a PDP legislator, was also present in the meeting. It is learnt that while discussing the road projects a heated argument broke out between the Minister of State Khalil Bandh and the Secretary to Government Roads and Buildings department Shalinder Kumar. It may be mentioned here that Shailinder is also Secretary in the Chief Minister's Secretariat. During the course of arguments, sources said, the R&B Secretary addressed the Minister of State in a manner which he should not have been. A senior officer, who was eyewitness to the whole incident told EARLY TIMES, the R&B Secretary Shailnder Kumar said to the Minister of State, "Tum Chup Karo". This single liner had the entire office chamber on the boil. The Agriculture Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar took no time to loose his temper. He broke down on the IAS officer and said that the way he spoke to the Minister of State was highly unbecoming of him. Sources said that Zargar went at length scolding the IAS officer. The officer interrupted the Minister asking him that he was not addressing him in a proper manner. This had Zargar further enraged. He made the officer to leave his room. While shouting at the officer, Zargar said that the IAS officers don't care for the political leadership in Jammu and Kashmir and they decisively created a wedge between public and the government. Not ready to take the Minister's words, Shailinder reportedly brought the matter to the Chief Minister's notice. Chief Minister has now written a letter to Agriculture Minister Zargar on this issue. Though the contents of the letter were not immediately known but sources said that the Chief Minister has used a language which upholds Zargar's views as well addresses grievance of the officer.
