| KVIB organizes awareness camp | | | Early Times Reporter Kathua | Sep 10 An awareness camp was organized jointly by army and J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Kathua today at unit Headquarter of 19 Brigade. 2/11 Gorkha Rifle in the borders area of Hiranagar Tehsil. The camp was organized under the guidance of Vivek Sharma Commanding Officer, Captain C. Ton Singh welcome the ex- men and the award winners and assured them that they shall extend full support to solve their problems. District Officer KVIB, Kathua Mr. Pawan Kumar spoke about the schemes and programmes for the border area people to set up own units for their rehabilitation. He impressed upon them to come forward and avail the benefits providing by the government. The district officer also briefed that during the last financial year, Board has provided Margin money (subsidy) of Rs. 75.77 lakh to set up 144 units with project cost of Rs. 293 lakh to create employment to more than 1580 persons in rural areas of district Kathua. For current financial year, 140 cases have been sponsored to different bank branches against the target 170 cases and subsidy amounting to Rs. 10-50 lakh has been released to 14 persons as on date. The camp was also attended by Secretary, Zila Sainik Welfare Board,Kathua, J.S. Agoria (Retd. Col.), army personals, ex-servicemen, widows of army personal and staff of KVIB, Kathua.
