| Four militants surrender | | | EARLY ITMES REPORTER Srinagar, Aug 14: Army today claimed that four militants surrendered before it after they return from Pakistan administered Kashmir at Uri in North Kashmir. Official sources told News Agency of Kashmir that four militants crossed over to this side of border from Uri sector in North Kashmir and informed the security forces about their desire to lay down their arms. The security forces responded positively and made the necessary arrangements. As per a defence spokesman all the militants who surrendered today are resident of Bandipora. They laid down their arms and ammunition at a forward army post near the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector after they crossed over from PoK, he added. They said the militants also handed over arms and ammunition, at the time of their surrender which they had brought from PoK for carrying out attacks on security forces. |
