| Training camp for new militant recruits in Sopore, Kashmir | | Startling revelation by three arrested recruits | | Govind Chouhan Jammu | Sep 10 Gone are the days when the youth, risking their lives, used to go across the border for arms training in the training camps set up by Pakistan, as the militants on the directions of the ISI have set up training camps within India itself. The training camps for the militants are not only in the Pakistan but in India as well as where the new recruits are imparted training in handling of sophisticated weapons. One such camp exists in the apple town Sopore in South Kashmir, once a liberated zone. This was disclosed by the three newly recruits who were arrested by Doda police today and had gone arms training in this particular training camp. Sources said that during interrogation the arrested ultras told the police that a large number of militants are getting training in this camp that was run by top commanders. Sources said during interrogation they also told police that they got weapons training from the camp. Sources said the newly trained recruits were dispatched to Doda district to strengthen the cadre that had immensely suffered due to the killing of several commanders and top ranking militants. They also told the police that LeT outfit has set up several training camps in the state which were running with out any fear, A number of training militants were imparted weapons training to the new recruits in these camps, the trio disclosed to the police. According to reports, Doda police today arrested three new LeT recruits and one Over Ground Worker (OGW) from the area during day long operation. According to sources information was received by Doda police that some OGW ’s have inducted three youths hailing from Tanta area in foreign dominated LeT outfit. Sources said the information was further developed and an operation was launched by police party in Cheera area under the location of police station Thathri and in the day long operation police party arrested all the three new LeT recruits. They have been identified as Gulshan Ahmed Magray son of Bashir Ahmed Magray, Manzoor Ahmed Wani son of Abdul Subban Wani and Nissar Ahmed Parrey son of Ali Mohd, all resident of Tanta and took them to police station for further interrogation. Sources said during interrogation they told police that they were motivated by two OGW’s namely Tariq Hussain resident of Tanta and Akhter Hussain resident of Joura, Thathri for joining militancy through one LeT commander namely Aqib. They further told the investigation agency that Akhter Hussain took them to Srinagar later to Sopore and handed them over to a group of militants. These newly recruited militants received arms training at Sopore and came back to Thathri area for carrying out militant activities. Sources said after getting details about the OGWs the Police swung into action and raided in different areas of Doda district and arrested one OGW namely Akhter Hussain and while the search for the other is going on. Sources said the Akhtar Hussain OGW during interrogation told police that he motivated the youth to join militancy and gave them sufficient cash for joining the militant ranks. Reports said their interrogation was on as last reports came and after their interrogation some more arrests are likely. Sources said they also told police that many other youth of the district are currently are under training in the camp who were motivated by the OGW by offering them handsome amount. When contacted SSP Doda Manohar Singh confirmed the arrest of three newly recruit militants of LeT outfit and said that their interrogation was on and more arrests are likely after their thorough interrogation. This is the first time in the history of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir when arrested militants told police that they got training from Srinagar not from Pakistan and after that information the security agencies are under pressure. It had happened earlier also when the OGWs of the militants had motivated the youth of the state to join the militancy and taken them to Pakistan for the training but this is the first time when arrested militants openly accepted that they got training from Sopore in Kashmir. Sources further added that intelligence agencies have been receiving information for the last many days that the militants have set up training camps in Jammu and Kashmir and after the confess of the arrested militants it has been proved beyond any doubt that training camps exist in the state as well.
