Bishnah police is reported to have arrested a gang of thieves from Delhi who were involved in many theft cases in Bishnah area . The gang had recently stolen a car from Junior Engineer’s house on gun point.
According to reports, some days back the Delhi police arrested three to four with a car on the borders of Delhi when they were on way to Delhi during routine checking. While checking the documents police got suspicious and took them to police station for further interrogation. During interrogation they told police that they lifted the car from the Bishnah area in Jammu.. Sources said Delhi police informed to Bishnah police and on receiving the information a police team from Bishnah rushed to Delhi and recovered the JE car’s from them. During interrogation by Bishnah police in a police station at Delhi the arrested persons told the police that they were working in a brick kiln in the Bishnah area and were involved in many theft cases in Bishnah and some other places and have stolen a number of cars on gun point and later put them on sale in other states. Sources said they have some masks and toy guns which were used in thefts and Bishnah. The formalities for brining the arrested thieves to Jammu have been completed and would be here shortly. Sources further said during interrogation in the police station at Delhi police got information that the gang was active in the area for last many years and was involved in many theft cases. With the arrested of the gang the police are likely to solve some more theft cases after their interrogation.
Here it is to be mentioned that on the intervening night of August 30-31, a gang of thieves in masks had entered in the house of JE Mulk Raj son of Inder Dass resident of Ratnal and lifted his Wagnor car number JK02AD/7990 and when the family members woke up they saw some persons lifting their car and they challenged them but the thieves on the gun point managed to lift the car. The JE informed police and police registered a case in this regard and also alerted all nakas on National Highway. All the three alleged accused were arrested from the borders of Delhi when they were on way to Delhi.
