| Maximum police medals go to officers, | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER
Srinagar, August 14 :
The Selection penal for conferring Medals for Gallantry and meritorious Services to Jammu and Kashmir police personnel seems to be quite biased towards Jawans as it is mostly officers who have been selected to be honoured by these awards this year.
Sources in power corridors told News Agency of Kashmir that about 27 cops have been given awards for gallantry and meritorious service on the occasion of Independence Day. Five police officials including 3 IPS officers one each of SP and DYSP rank and one inspector have been given Sher-i-Kashmir Police medal for meritorious service while 22 with only two constables , 4 senior grade const. and 2 Head constables have been succeeded to make to it. Rest of the Awards include one SSP , two SPs six Dy SPs, one Inspector 2 Sis and one ASI have been awarded with Sher-i-Kashmir Police medal for gallantry.
