| Celebrations to mark 141st birth anniversary of Mahajan | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu Sept 10 In connection with the celebrations of the 141st birth anniversary of Lala Hans Raj Mahajan, Central Mahajan Sabha has chalked out an elaborate program besides organizing a Yagha at Lala Hans Raj Park here. This was revealed by Romesh Chander Gupta, President Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha, while addressing newsmen here today. He said the celebrations would commence of September 30 and on October 2 a Yagha would be organized at Lala Hans Raj Park. He said many programmes have been chalked out for young boys and girls of the community that include Rangoli, Painting ad Debating competition apart from symposium. The celebrations would conclude on October 14 where the young boys and girls and other distinguished personalities, who have achieved excellence in respective fields, would be honoured. Earlier Gupta also highlighted some of the achievements of the central body which is working for the upliftment of the downtrodden people of the community by providing financial assistance to the widows, grants to the educational institutions in developing infrastructural facilities under the banner of ‘Akhal Bhartiya Shiromani Mahajan Sabha.. The Sabha is also imparting education to the young girls in fashion designing, painting, tailoring and cutting to enable them to learn their livelihood. He said the Sabha envisages providing training to the students in interior decoration and computer also.A marriage bureau is providing its services to the people of various communities in order to find suitable matches for their young ones while Justice Mehar Chand Charitable Hospital has been established at Gandhi Nagar rendering treatment and diagnostic facilities. .
