Altaf shifted to Akhnoor police station

Police today shifted top HM mander Altaf Ahmed son of Gulam Ahmed Khan resident of Gounthal, Surankote to Akhnoor police station where his interrogation was going on as last reports came in.
According to the sources, early morning he was shifted to police station Akhnoor from Surankote in high security arrangements. During interrogation he confessed that he had handed over the consignment to Nahida and that he again became active in militancy in the month of March this year after spending eight years in the jail.
Sources said he has told police during interrogation that after direction from commanders he had delivered the consignment to the Law student for Jammu as the outfit was planning to launch attack on some places in Jammu city and many militants of the outfit were on the job of assessing the city for last few months. The outfit was trying to strengthen its power in the city. He also gave police names of some persons who are active in the militancy used to give huge amount of money to the girls to carry out their assignments.
He informed that girls were being used to deliver the consignments because hardly anyone would doubt them and they easily managed to deliver the consignments. He also told police that many militants were hiding in many towns and cities of the state and were waiting for opportune timings to strike.
Sources added that police is near to nab a commander and his arrest will be possible soon. Sources said three teams are already in the Srinagar, Surankote, Udhampur and some other parts of the state for more arrests and today a special team was also dispatched out of Jammu after getting more information.
Meanwhile Nahida during today’s interrogation is reported to have not given any new information to the police. She is reported to have stated that she had not seen any other militant but was only in touch with the militants who were active in Poonch district. Sources said she also gave some important clues to the police about more hideouts of the militants in the city where they weapons and militants were hidden. She had accompanied a police team who had raided two places in the city but nothing was recovered. Her interrogation was on as last reports came in.
