| Samba, Rajouri girls shine in Volleyball | | | Early Times Reporter JAMMU | Sep 10: Girls from newly created district of Samba and Rajouri clinched the winners trophies in under-19 and under-17 year categories respectively in the Divisional level inter-district Volleyball competitions organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sport at Government Girls High School, Gandhi Nagar, here today. In the under-19 category, the aggressive spikers from Samba trounced Rajouri in straight but close sets 25-17, 26-24. Earlier, in the semi-finals, Samba had easy straight sets win over Kathua 25-9, 25-4. In other semi-final, Rajouri too registered an easy win over Jammu 25-6, 25-11. Meanwhile, in the under-17 final, Rajouri outplayed district Kathua 2-1. After winning the first set without facing much resistance from the opponent 14-25, Kathua lost the following two sets making it a close fight 25-20, 25-23 thereby losing the final. In the semi-finals, played in the morning session, Rajouri defeated Doda 25-12, 25-7 and Kathua beat Poonch in straight equal sets 25-10, 25-10.
