| Jammu, Doda, Kishtwar share Kho-Kho trophies | | | Early Times Reporter JAMMU|Sep10 Hosts Jammu district emerged winner in under-19 group while Doda and Kishtwar districts shared the titles in under-17 and under-14 year groups respectively in the Divisional level inter-district girls kho-kho competitions which were organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Youth Hostel Nagrota, here today. In the under-19 final played this evening, Jammu outplayed Doda comfortably by one turn and three points. Earlier, in the semi-finals, played in the morning session, Jammu beat Rajouri 9-2 while Doda turned the tables against Reasi by one turn and one point. For the under-17 title, Kishtwar girls had a tough time against Doda in the closely contested final with score on board 3-2. In the semi-finals, Doda downed district Udhampur 6-3 while Kishtwar beat Jammu 4-3 to pave way for the final. However, in the junior girls from Doda (under-14 year) took the revenge of district’s loss in the under-17 category by beating Kishtwar convincingly by one turn and three points to take home the winners trophy. Earlier, in the semi-finals, Doda beat Rajouri by one turn and two points and Kishtwar defeated Kathua in a neck to neck fight 6-5. In the finals and prize distribution function, District Youth Services and Sports Officers, Jai Raj (Jammu) and Ram Chand (Udhampur) were chief guests. Competitions were organised under the supervision of Swarn Singh and Jeet Singh both PEMs.
