| Soldier, 2 Militants killed, 4 Jawans injured across valley | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar|Sep 10: While Security forces claimed to have eliminated two militants in a far off village in Handwara, One soldier lost his life and four others were injured in separate militancy related incidents across valley on Monday. Elsewhere one Al-badr militant was arrested during early hours today with a grenade. Police sources said that on receiving information about the presence of some militants in Sherhama, Mawar area of Handwara; it along with 30 RR launched a search operation. As the security force cops were cordoning off the area, they came under heavy fire which was equally retaliated by them, they said. In the ensuing gun battle two militants were killed. One AK Rifle and three magazines were recovered from the site of encounter. Police sources further said that One soldier of 21 RR died in a combat with militants in Rajwar forest area of Handwara. Giving details, he said that an encounter broke out between militants and a joint Party of Police and 21RR in the forest area of Rajwar Handwara. In the exchange of fire, a soldier of 21RR identified as Pawan Kumar was killed and another soldier was injured, he added. In another militancy related incident, three CRPF personnel were injured when some unidentified militants lobbed a hand Grenade on a CRPF- TATA 407 vehicle bearing registration No: MH14F/9865 of 135 Bn at Kathi Darwaza Rainawari at about 0855 hours today. All the injured have been hospitalized and police has launched a manhunt to nab the culprits. Meanwhile Police arrested an Al-Badr militant at Amargarh Sopore and recovered a Grenade from him. Police said that in a joint operation with 52-RR, it arrested an Al-Badr militant identified as Bilal Ahmad, alias Abu Waqas, son of Gh. Mohd Teli, resident of Tuldan Shopian near Amargarh Sopore. One hand grenade was also recovered from possession of the militant who was on way to Lolab Kupwara from Shopian.
