| Shock expressed over boat capsizing | | | Early Times Reporter
Ramban|Sep 11 In a statement issued here today District President Ramban-Banihal – Anila Shaheen has expressed shock and grief over boat capsized in river Chenab at a remote village of Marsoo in Doda district in which three innocent school going children lost their lives. She expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.
She said that it is all because of the failure of the Power Development Corporation (PDC) who has not reconstructed four suspension bridges which got damaged due to Baglihar Dam Project and this has paved the way to this tragedy.
She said the matter has been brought to the notice of the State Government authorities, but despite repeated requests no action has been taken. It seems as if the State Government is sleeping over the issue.
She demanded that the re-construction work on these four suspension bridges be taken up on war footing, so that such tragedies are averted.
