A musical programme Geet Kal Aur Aaj was organized at Gandhi Nagar Women College here today. The function was organized by R.D. Burman and Kishore Kumar Fan Club in collaboration with Airtel to pay tributes to the legendary singers R D Burman and Kishore Kumar.
Veena Gupta, Principal Govt.Women College Gandhi Nagar, accorded a warm welcome to the artistes. In her address, she said it was heartening to see young people bound to their cultural roots through music.
The artists with their scintillating voice enthralled the whole audience. Even the audience also encouraged the artists on the each performance. The artist who performed on the show were Deepali Wattal, Subash Langeh, Neelam Langeh , Vishal Gupta and Shabana Ahmed .
The artsists were accompanied by the Sunil Sharma on the synthesizer, Darbari Lal on the tabla , Rakesh Anand on the flute and Saokus on the Congo. The technical in charge of the show was S. Kumar.
But one thing that made the whole show ugly was the power cuts. Just a few minutes after the start of the show the power had gone which continued after few minutes of gap again in the first item. The artist performing on that time had to continue again from where she had left.
While talking to our correspondent to the S Kumar, the technical in charge of the show stated that it took at least one month to prepare for the shows and the interruption during the performance will break down the rhythmic the artists.
The show was sponsored by the Heritage School, Malhotra Enterprises, Tiny scholar school and Mittu Kittu gift store.
