| JU VC earns appreciations | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 11 Gripped by various controversies, Jammu University vice-chancellor, Amitabh Mattoo, today heaved a sigh of relief with some organizations expressing ‘complete faith’ in his administration and extending ‘support’ to the works being undertaken by him. In a press release issued by Jammu University Teachers’ Association (JUTA), the teaching fraternity of the JU stated that Mattoo has taken the university leaps and bounds ahead and thus JUTA offers its full support to the initiatives taken by him for getting the JU a status of central varsity. JUTA said that it reaffirms its total faith and unconditional full supporting the unparallel efforts made by the VC. JUTA, in the statement, said it appeals to all the intellectuals and political parties as well as the students and members of civil society to extend their whole-hearted support to Mattoo in his efforts. Similarly, in a meeting of the Jammu State Students Morcha held in the JU campus today, JSSM state vice-president, Vikrant Singh said the organization welcomes the VC’s decision to open new campuses of the JU. He said that the present VC has not only made the identity of the Jammu University at national level but also at international level by holding events like ‘Umang’ and ‘Harmony’. Vikrant further said that JSSM welcomes the step taken by VC to make the result of graduation courses in the premises in the larger interest of the students. JSSM also expressed its happiness over the Business School of the JU being rated among top 10 universities across the country. Vikrant praised the VC for releasing funds for the development of infrastructure of the varsity.
