Bali expresses shock over Assar incident
Demands ex-gratia to victim’s families

Expressing serious shock over the drowning of three boys in river Chenab near Assar on Batote- Doda Highway, BJP senior leader and former MLA Ramban Bali Bhagat has held the government responsible for this mishap and demanded grant of ex-gratia relief to victims’ families.
Addressing media persons here today Bhagat demanded registration of FIR against CM Ghulam Nabi Azad and Chief Engineer PDD and alleged that despite people’s oft repeated demand for construction of bridge over the mighty Chenab river, the Government has never bothered to pay any heed towards this genuine and legitimate demand.
The BJP leader said that with the construction of Bhagliar Dam in the area two old bridges, over the Chenab River were completely submerged causing great incontinence to the inhabitants of the area. He said presently there was no link between two sides of the river, in a stretch of around 70 km area. The residents are forced to crossover the river in temporary constructed boats, by putting their life in danger. ‘The genuine demands of the people were turned down by the concerned authorities’ he alleged.
Bali said that following the death of three students, a strong crowed of around 4000 people of the area have started protest demonstration in the area demanding action against the agencies responsible for this episode. The protestors are demanding release of ex-gratia in favor of victims’ families besides a government job to the next of the kins.
