Banihal police today registered an attempt to rape against a government teacher who made an abortive attempt to rape a minor student in Duligam area.
According to reports, today the family members of a 9 year old girl along with the girl complained in police station that the teacher namely Bashir Ahmed son of Shamsdeen Wani resident of Duligam posted in the area attempted to rape the teenaged girl in his house when no body was present there. They told police that the teacher called the girl for tuition where he attempted rape. Police registered a case under section 376/511 RPC under FIR No 179/2007 and is investigating the matter. Reports said the teacher has not been arrested so far and hunt has been launched to nab him.
