Akhnoor police today registered a case against three brothers and their wives for beating an old woman in the area. According to reports today one Geeta Devi wife of late Jalla Ram resident of Mandrian complained in police station that three real brother namely Doulat Ram, Prabu Dayal and Rattan Lal sons of Garav Chand, Bittu ram son of Prabu Dayal and Darshna Devi, Pushpa Devi and Geeta Devi attacked her with rods when no body was present in the house causing serious injuries. The Police registered a case under section 452,307,147 RPC under FIR No 141/2007 against them and is investigating the matter. The injured woman was shifted to hospital for treatment. The reason behind the attack is reportedly some old dispute.
