| BSNL ’s GPRS, a complete failure, allege customers | | ‘Authorities non-committal, no body to take care of customer’s vows’ | | Surinder Raina Jammu | Sep11 BSNL, one of the largest network service providers in the country has failed to provide uninterrupted and smooth service to the customers in Jammu and Kashmir especially in Jammu region. Its tall assurances have failed on the ground with no body to take care of the customers’ problems. Though the private net work service providers joined late in the state but have been doing good business to the entire satisfaction of the customers. The BSNL that has all the infrastructure and wherewithal available seems no match to the private service providers In spite of launching of GPRS service in mobile network with extra rentals, the situation has not improved and those who have opted for the service curse the authorities for its poor performance.. Majority of the GPRS customers who are paying extra rent every month have lodged several complaints about non-functioning of the new scheme apart from poor non cooperation from the authorities concerned .Customers who are using this service complaint that they had made many complaints to the BSNL authorities and even many times visited to service centres personally but of no avail as the authorities were reluctant to take their problems seriously. Even some of the GPRS customers blamed that only on a particular brand of mobiles, GPRS is functioning but other mobiles are not responding to its frequency. Some blamed that when they tried to download, it stopped functioning.. There is a large list of complaints. Some customers who have already applied for this service and paid extra rent a couple of months back claimed that the service has not been provided to them They also alleged that the BSNL officials are not ready to listen to their problems and every time they ignore them. When this reporter contacted GMT T R Bhadwa to know his reaction on the customers complaints he refused to talk on the subject thereby acknowledging certain loopholes in the system.
