| Inter-district Divisional level Kabaddi meet | | Hectic schedule marks opening day competitions | | Early Times Reporter
Jammu | Sep 12 As many as 13 matches of the preliminary round were played on the opening day of the Inter-district Divisional level boys Kabaddi championship of the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Youth Hostel Nagrota grounds, here today.
Competitions are being held in all the three age groups of under-14, under-17 and under-19 year categories simultaneously at the same venue. About 275 Kabaddi players drawn from all the districts of Jammu Division are taking part in this competition.
Part of the annual calendar of activities of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, these competitions are being organized on knock out basis under the guidance of a penal of experts from the Department, informed Physical Education Master, Dr Swarn Singh, who along with Jeet Singh are supervising the competitions. .
Earlier, the competitions were declared open by the District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu, Jai Raj in a well attended function at Youth Hostel Nagrota grounds.
Over 250 kabaddi players drawn from all the districts of Jammu Division are taking part in these competitions, informed the District officer in his inaugural address.
Meanwhile, in the under-17 year group, Poonch, Doda, Kathua and Jammu have qualified for the semi-finals. Now, in the first semi-final, Poonch will take on Doda while Kathua will be facing Jammu for the final berth.
