| Raza favours early restoration of road links between India-Pakistan | | | Ajay Meenia EARLY TIMES REPORTER

“It’s not only Sialkot-Suchetgarh road link but, the entire border between India and Pakistan should be opened for the restoration of people to people contacts and maintenance of everlasting peace in the region”, said Lt Col. Zafar Raza of 2nd Chenab Ranger Unit, Pakistan. He said this during his Courtesy visit to Indian side on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day. Raza was received on Octrive post, Suchetgarh by his Indian counterpart Commandant 129 Bn BSF, K N Sayal. Both the officers congratulated each other on the occasion and sweets were offered by Raza to his Indian counterpart. Raza was accompanied by his family members and Pakistani Rangers. Interacting with media persons Raza expressed the strong desire of his countrymen for the early restoration of all the links between the two nations. When asked about the statement of Pakistan’s Foreign Minister in which he expressed strong reservations over the opening of Suchetgarh-Sialkote Road link, Raza said that there is no such thing as everybody is in the favor of its opening. Mean while, Commandant Sayal also informed that he is also going to pay a courtesy call to his Pakistani Counterpart on the occasion of India’s Independence Day o 15th August.
