| Akram clinches Panchari Kesari | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 12 Mohd Akram of Jammu clinched the 143rd edition of the Panchari Kesari Dangal outplaying Pahalwan Kuldeep Singh of Ladha (Bhamag) in the main bout that lasted for 14 minutes at Panchari in district Udhampur. Dangal was organized by Panchari Dangal committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. For his triumph in the main bout, Pahalwan Akram was also rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 1500 alongwith other prizes. Runners up Kuldeep Singh was given away Rs 1000 by the organizing committee through chief guest, Shiv Kumar Sharma, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and member District Udhampur Sports Advisory Board. The function was presided over by Sardari Lal Dubey, president District Udhampur Indian Style Wrestling Association Sunil Badiyal, social worker from Udhampur and Rajinder Sharma SHO Panchari were the guests of honour. In all, 37 bouts were played in this one day long Dangal amongst 54 wrestlers drawn from Jammu, Udhampur, Ramban and Reasi. In his address, chief guest Shiv Sharma appreciated the Panchari Dangal Committee for continuing the tradition of holding dangal in the town for the last over 100 years. He also thanked the wrestling lovers for turning up in a big number and the agencies involved in the smooth conduct of the event.
