| Peerzada for redoubling efforts to provide quality education to students | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar| Sep12 – Iqbal High School Soura celebrated Annual Day function today. Minister for education Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed was the chief guest on the occasion. Member Parliament Ch. Lal Singh was the guest of Honour on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Sayeed called on the teaching fraternity to work with zeal and dedication to provide education to the students. At the same time, the Minister said that students should be disciplined and obedient to their parents and teachers. Chairman, Board of School Education Nissar Ahmad, Director School Education Kashmir Mohammad Rafi and other senior officers of education department attended the function. Giving resume of the activities of government in the field of education Sayeed said that as many as 24000 schools are functioning in the state, which includes 4000 private schools. Impressing for increase of literacy rate in the state, the Minister directed for redoubling efforts of providing quality education to the students in every nook and corner of the state. He said that the government is engaged in building infrastructure, upgrading quality and in chanelizing talent among students. Sayeed appealed parents and teachers to coordinate and cooperate for brightening the future of the state as well as student community. Later, the Minister awarded best teacher award to Miss Asifa Ganai and best student award to Uzma Ali.
