| Public asked to follow traffic restrictions | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 12 The Traffic police has advised the public in general and commuters in particulars to follow certain traffic restrictions being imposed in view of construction of Nallah/ drain at Indira Chowk with immediate effect for smooth regulation of traffic. According to SSP Traffic, the restrictions included no vehicle should be allowed to proceed towards K.C. crossing/ MLA hostel from Indira Chowk either from J.P. Chowk (Gummat) or Shalamar Chowk side. However traffic coming from J.P. Chowk (Gummat) can be allowed to ply towards Shalamar Chowk via Indira Chowk, vehicles coming from Shalamar Chowk towards Indira Chowk and desirous of going towards K. C. Crossing or flyover shall have to take U-turn at Indira Chowk towards Shalamar, ranbeshwar temple and then take MLA Hostel lane/ Doctor’s lane, traffic coming from Shalamar towards J.P. Chowk (Gummat) shall ply normally via Indira Chowk, no heavy vehicles shall be permitted to ply in Indira Chowk area. Vehicles coming from K. C. crossing towards Shalamar via Indira Chowk shall ply normally but no vehicle shall be allowed to take right turn towards J.P. Chowk via Indira Chowk and matadors of Indira Chowk- Nagrota route shall initiate from and terminate at old Chhamb Route Bus Stand near MLA Hostel crossing. These traffic restrictions will continue till further order.
