| CM to interact with BGSBU students | | Inauguration of unique socializing mall, RIC, DELNET today | | Early Times Reporter Rajouri | Sep 12: Following an unprecedented enthusiasm of the aspirants seeking admissions in different disciplines, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, is visiting the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University in Rajouri tomorrow to have an interaction with the third and latest batch of students. The visit of the Chief Minister, who is also Chancellor of the University, will instill confidence among the students, who have been drawn from across the state. The University has recently completed the admission process for disciplines of Management, Information Technology, Financial Services, Computer Sciences, Applied Mathematics and Islamic Studies. On the occasion, the Chief Minister will also throw open a unique in-campus shopping and socializing mall named as ‘Sabrang Square’, besides Dedicated Radio Internet Connectivity, (DRIC) and a well-equipped Central Library, with DELNET facility. Developing Library Network (DELNET) is the major resource sharing library network in South-Asia which covers wide spectrum of member libraries and their resources connecting eleven hundred Indian libraries and libraries of six overseas countries. DELNET is committed to pool the information about resources scattered in the libraries the world over. Installation of DELNET facility in the university will satisfy the major information requirement of students, research scholars and faculty members. Central Library of BGSB University is now extensively facilitating Inter-Library Loan (ILL) and document delivery facility to its users because online-access to more than the six million records of databases is now available. This venture will go a long way in mitigating the severe shortage of books and journals which have been prohibitively costly due to the widening gap between the growing demand for literature and the limits of available resources. Meanwhile, almost all preparations have been made for setting up the College of Engineering and Technology which is all set to start functioning from the current academic session itself. According to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Masud Chaudhary the setting up of a College of Engineering and Technology in this region shall be another event of historical importance. The College is being formally inaugurated by the Chief Minister next month
