| Janata Party holds protest | | | Early Times Reporter

State unit of Janata Party, under presidentship of Som Nath Dabgotra staged a protest demonstration at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu against the Union Government’s Setu Samundram Ship Canal Project which in all probability will do away with the ancient Setu of Ramayana Era. During demonstration effigy of Union Govt. was burnt by the protestors. People from all walks of life and communities participated in the protest demonstrations. People belonging to Muslim community also participated in as show of solidarity with Hindu brethrens. Demonstrators also raised slogans against the union govt.
Dabgotra while speaking to the gathering of demonstrators lauded Supreme Court’s action of staying the execution of the Setu Samundram Ship Canal Project in the vicinity of the Ram Setu of Ramayana Era on the petition filed by Subramanian Swamy, National President, Janata Party and others.
Janata Party has demanded that Ram Setu be declared as a National Heritage and preserved.
