During his two-day tour of Reasi assembly constituency, BJP State President Ashok Khajuria addressed a massive public rally at Arnas and chaired workers’ meeting at Katra.
While addressing public rally at Arnas, Ashok Khajuria charged the Congress-led UPA at the centre of intentionally hurting the sentiments of Hindus all over the world. He said the recent Halafnama submitted on behalf of the Union government in the Supreme Court on the issue of Ram Setu has exposed the real face of the Congress whose one point agenda is to let down the Hindus in one way or the other. He said the BJP opposes such an attitude of the UPA and warns it to desist from playing with the religious sentiments of the Hindus.
Ashok Khajuria also took the Congress-led State Government to task for shielding all such ministers who are involved in corrupt practices. He declared that the Congress would be rooted out in the next assembly elections and BJP will play an important role in government formation. He said the day BJP comes in power we will ensure that all the corrupt elements are put behind the bars. He said the members of Village Defence Committees (VDCs) are our backbone in fight against militancy but the government has failed to ensure their regular salary, equipping them with modern and sophisticated weapons and setting up of more VDCs. He also criticized the local elected representative of using influence to harass the innocent people of the area.
In the largely attended meeting of about 500 party workers of Reasi and Katra held at Katra, Ashok Khajuria took stock of the organizational and political activities in the areas falling under Reasi and Katra mandals of the party. He, on this occasion, said that the coming days are very crucial for the BJP as the people have lost faith in the Congress and are looking towards BJP with the high hopes. He asked the partymen to work more vigorously so that the Congress is shown the way in the coming elections.
Party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma, Prabhari Reasi BJP Baldev Sharma, Distt. President Kabla Singh, Rishi Ram Saraf, Bansi Lal Sharma, Ajay Nanda (Adv.), Sudesh Pandotra, Shambhu Nath and Anand Sarup Pandoh were prominent among those who accompanied the BJP chief during his 2-day tour of the constituency.
